Experience the pearls of Alsace on this full-day guided tour by minivan. Explore the beautiful city of Colmar, the enchanting villages of Eguisheim and Riquewirhr on the Alsace Wine Route, and finally visit the mighty Haut Koenigsbourg Castle.
Meet your local English-speaking guide in Strasbourg and head south. The first stop of the day will be in Colmar, a town known as the gateway to the Alsace wine route, and famous for its typical Alsatian architecture. Then you will stop to visit Eguisheim, a charming and colourful village with many half-timbered houses, and Riquewirh, one of the most beautiful villages in Alsace, if not the most beautiful.
After free time for lunch (not included), you will drive north to the Haut Koenigsbourg castle. On the way, you can admire the spectacular Alsace wine route. Located between the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountain range, this 60-year-old road winds through the hillsides for over 170 km. The road passes through rows of vine-covered hills and picturesque villages with narrow streets and charming flower-filled houses clustered around the local church steeple.
Finally, you will reach the Haut Koenigsbourg castle. Here, follow your guide for a tour of this powerful fortress that dominates the valley. Built in the 12th century, the castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route to the east. After the visit, you will return to Strasbourg.
