Enjoy a guided day tour around the mysterious Loch Ness and the stunning Urquhart Castle.
A day to explore Loch Ness, enjoy the marvellous views and mystique around the famous loch and its monster. As you leave Inverness you will follow along the Caledonian Canal to the source of the River Ness. You will travel along the road less travelled to Dores, on the eastern side of the loch. This tiny village boasts a beach with the most striking vista of Loch Ness and the Great Glen Rift valley.
A short drive away you will arrive at the forest community of Foyers. Here you can walk downhill to see the most stunning waterfall - Falls of Foyes. This was a favourite spot for Robert Burns.
The journey continues south, after a twisty drive through forested landscape you will arrive at Fort Augustus. Here you will have time for lunch and enjoy the boats coming through the Caledonian Canal.
Next stop is at Invermoriston where you can stretch your legs and go for a short walk.
Once you get near the banks of Loch Ness keep your eyes peeled for the monster and beautiful views. We know Loch Ness is all about Nessie, but the banks of the loch are home to another star; Urquhart Castle. This stronghold has witnessed some of the most dramatic chapters in Scottish history. Walk in the grounds of the castle and imagine the battles that took place here. Next follows a one hour long cruise on the loch.
Once you're back on shore, you continue your journey along Loch Ness and return to Inverness in the early evening.
