Pompeii & Mt. Vesuvius Volcano day trip from Rome

From Rome, explore the ruins of Pompeii and climb up the Mt. Vesuvius volcano to see the stunning views on the Bay of Naples.

Meet your guide in Piazza del Popolo in Rome and embark on an air-conditioned coach to Pompeii. This World Heritage site of Pompeii is a must-see when coming to Italy. An archaeologist will guide you through the streets and tell you stories about this tragic city and what it reveals about ancient life. 

The coach will then take you to Mt.Vesuvius, one of the few active volcanoes in Europe, from where you can admire the breathtaking views of Capri and Sorrento.

Mt.Vesuvius is closed during winter. If you are travelling between early November and March, the coach will follow the coastline to Positano where you will have some free time.

From early November to March, the Vesuvius isn’t accessible, and it is replaced with a visit to Positano. Also, during summer months, in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, the visit will be replaced with a visit to Positano.
