Day trip to Mount Rigi

Mount Rigi – renowned as the `Queen of the Mountains´ is one of the most popular Alpine destinations in Switzerland. Take a cruise on a paddle-steamer on Lake Lucerne before choosing either the cogwheel railways or cable car to the summit.

The summit offers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view extending over 13 lakes as far as the Black Forest in neighbouring Germany. You can reach Mount Rigi either by two cogwheel railways and by aerial cableway from Weggis. Active visitors can choose 120-kilometre network of hiking trails. The less energetic can rest and relax on one of the inviting terraces overlooking the surroundings.

An ideal excursion from Lucerne starts with a cruise on a paddle-steamer or motor vessel to Weggis and descends to Arth-Goldau from where a train connects back to Lucerne.
